Living on the HON

As I look back over the past 4 years, I have many fond memories to ponder.  But I can honestly say that my best academic, social, and emotional decision coming into SRU was my decision to liveon a LLC of the Honors Program.  Otherwise known as the HON.

A living learning community (LLC) is unique to SRU and a great way to jump into college! Overall a LLC is the group of students who live on your floor who have a majority of major/minor level course work together.  Ok so why was this so helpful? Because my roommates and floor mates were taking similar classes to me! So therefore we would study together, walk to classes together, eat lunch together, and honor each other the night before tests by not being loud or rude to others who are studying.  A LLC is a great way to make friends who will be in your classes for the remainder of you college career.

Currently, some of my favorite times during the month are my Honors Program meetings where I get to see a lot of my friends from my LLC floor from my freshman and sophomore year.  These friends helped me through a lot those first years so catching up with them is always a blessing!

If you are interested in learning more about Honors LLCs or Resident Life at Slippery Rock, check out this link: http://www.sru.edu/studentlife/reslife/llc/pages/hon_llc.aspx

I know I have blogged many a time about the Honors Program but if you have questions or comments about the benefits of being in the Honors Program AND living on the Honors LLC, please don’t hesitate to ask!

All for now, friends!

Until next time… 🙂
